About UNHYPE

No Hype, Just Facts

We live in an era of influencer marketing, brand partnerships, and sponsored content disguised as honest reviews. Every product launch comes with carefully orchestrated hype cycles, strategic PR campaigns, and affiliate links masquerading as recommendations.

UNHYPE exists to cut through all of that.

What We Do

We review products, analyze trends, and investigate the claims that brands make in their marketing. Our approach is simple: we test products ourselves, research the companies behind them, and tell you what actually matters. No sponsored posts. No affiliate pressure. No pulling punches to maintain brand relationships.

When a “Kodak” camera isn’t actually made by Kodak, we tell you. When a viral product trades on nostalgia instead of quality, we explain why. When marketing promises don’t match reality, we document the gap.

Our Standards

Independence First: We don’t accept payment for positive reviews. If we review your product, it’s because we chose to, not because you paid us to.

Hands-On Testing: We use the products we review. Real-world experience matters more than spec sheets and press releases.

Research-Backed: Every claim we make is supported by testing, research, or verifiable sources. If we don’t know something, we say so.

International Perspective: We cover products and brands from around the world, written for a global audience. Good products and bad marketing tactics exist everywhere.

Who We’re For

UNHYPE is for anyone tired of scrolling past sponsored content wondering what’s actually worth buying. We’re for consumers who want honest information before they spend their money. We’re for readers who value skepticism over hype and facts over feelings.

If you’ve ever wondered whether a viral product lives up to its claims, or who actually makes that branded item you’re considering, this is for you.

Ethics & Transparency

We believe in absolute transparency about how UNHYPE operates, what we accept, and where potential conflicts of interest might exist.

Review Products

We purchase products when possible. When companies send review samples, we disclose this in the article. Receiving a product for review does not guarantee coverage—we only review products we find newsworthy or interesting.

Review samples remain the property of the manufacturer and can be recalled at any time.

No Paid Reviews

UNHYPE does not accept payment for positive reviews, rankings, or editorial coverage. Companies cannot pay to influence our opinions, editorial calendar, or publication timing. If we review your product, it’s because we chose to, not because you paid us.

Affiliate Links

Some articles contain affiliate links to products we discuss. If you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links never influence our editorial opinions or recommendations. We include links for reader convenience, not because a product has an affiliate program. Many products we recommend have no affiliate relationship.

Sponsored Content & Paid Partnerships

UNHYPE accepts paid content and brand partnerships. All sponsored content is clearly marked with explicit disclaimers at the top of the article, including labels like “Sponsored by [Brand]” or “Paid Partnership.”

We maintain strict separation between editorial and sponsored content:

  • Companies cannot pay for positive reviews or influence our honest opinions

  • Sponsored content is written to FTC standards—all claims reflect our genuine opinions

  • We reserve the right to decline partnerships that conflict with our editorial integrity

Video Content

UNHYPE produces video reviews and analysis. The same editorial standards apply to video as written content. Sponsored videos are clearly disclosed in the title, description, voiceover, and on-screen graphics.

Video integrations (such as mid-roll sponsor messages within otherwise editorial videos) are marked with clear disclaimers and on-screen callouts.

Press Releases & Announcements

We do not republish press releases as news. When covering product launches or brand announcements, we provide critical analysis, fact-check claims, and offer context that marketing materials omit.

If coverage is based on a press release or manufacturer-provided information, we disclose this and seek independent verification where possible.

Travel & Events

We may accept travel and lodging assistance to attend product launches, trade shows, and manufacturer events. This includes airfare, accommodations, and incidental expenses like meals or group activities.

Accepting travel assistance does not guarantee coverage. Editorial decisions are based on newsworthiness and reader interest, not who paid for the flight.

Independence

We hold no financial interest or investments in the brands we cover. We are not employed by, contracted to, or otherwise affiliated with the companies whose products we review.

Corrections

When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top or bottom of the relevant article with the date of the update.

The Bottom Line

UNHYPE’s credibility depends entirely on your trust. If we’re accepting anything of value—whether it’s a review sample, travel assistance, or future sponsorships—you’re going to know about it. If a brand wants us to hide those relationships, we walk away.

We’re committed to transparency, even when it’s uncomfortable or potentially unprofitable. That’s the deal.
